Art camp with Julia Bray
Grades 4-6
Class starts June 4th-6th. It's a beginners painting class for kids. Each class aims to help eachc hild get used to the medium which will be acrylic. Each day we will have a featured painting with a specific color palette. Nothing is meant to look exact. Just to have fun!
Day 1: Sunflower
An easy and fun piece using nothing but a palette knife! This exercise will help the kids learnt hat less is more. This piece uses only 5 colors and shows them that nothing has to be exact.
Day 2: Complementary colors
I was inspired by Marc Rothko when I made this piece. It focus more on the color than the image. It will help the kids match colors together.
Day 3: Pattern
A fun piece using bubble wrap and paper towel roll. It will allow the kids to experiment and mess up. What they will do is lay down a base color and fill in the circles using markers and paint.
